Our school

Welcome to Colegio Internacional Alicante

All the teachers are University Graduates, with many years of teaching experience of Spanish for foreigners.

The familiar way our highly qualified teachers interact with the students, creates a friendly, dynamic and young atmosphere.

Our School runs courses of six different levels: Beginner A1, elementary A2, intermediate B1, upper intermediate B2, advanced C1, superior C2.

We always offer 4 basic levels all year round: A and B. We will open a group even with one student only.

There is a programme of extra-curricular activities:

Our methodology is active and communicative. The student speaks from the starting day.

Visits to the city

Theatre plays

Beach parties

Golf or adventure sports

Art exhibitions

Spanish films

Excursions to nearby villages

Salsa lessons

All modern teaching methods are employed and a very personalised teaching service is provided which caters for the needs of the individual students. Groups consist of an average of 6 to 12 participants, intermittently also up to 14.  Our students come from all over the word: German, Dutch, Scandinavian… are the most popular nationalities you can find during your stay with us. Mostly of then are in their 20’s, but we also welcome senior students.  An hour of instruction consists of 50 min.

Students are given a level test on line before of arrival and the first day are placed in class according to their knowledge of the Spanish Language. We insist that all our students complete daily homework exercises and attend all their classes. This is to enable the whole class to progress rapidly and at the same pace.

An Attendance Certificate will be issued by Colegio Internacional Alicante at the end of the course, but we reserve the right to refuse such a certificate to any student who did not attend 80% of the classes or an Academic Progress Certificate. In this case, in addition to class attendance, you must obtain an average 70% between:

  • The written exam (70%)
  • Participation and activities in class (30%)

Our Essence: More Than Learning Spanish

At our school, we believe that learning a language is about connecting with a new world. That's why our teaching goes beyond the classroom: it's an ethical and enriching experience that cares for people and the environment that hosts us.

Sustainable and Social Commitment:
We don't just teach Spanish; we live and promote a responsible model. Your learning has a positive impact on Alicante.

  • Minimal Ecological Footprint: We implement water and energy saving measures, waste reduction, and use recycled and reusable materials.
  • Protection and Enhancement: We invite you to discover, appreciate, and protect Alicante's natural wealth (its flora, fauna, and coastline) and its exceptional artistic, cultural, and archaeological heritage.
  • Support for the Local Environment: We foster the local economy and authenticity through local, zero-kilometer, and traditional craft products.
  • Living Culture: We experience festivals, traditions, and customs not as spectators but as participants, integrating them into an authentic cultural experience.

Our Compass: Mission, Vision & Values
MISSION
To be the emotional and cultural bridge connecting people from all over the world with the Spanish language and essence. Through human and close teaching, we break stereotypes, foster respect for diversity, and create a global community of learners who don't just speak Spanish, but feel and live it.

VISION
We aspire to be the socio-cultural reference for Spanish teaching in Alicante, recognized for our teaching excellence and positive impact. We want choosing us to be a decision that our students and collaborators feel deeply proud of.

VALUES
These principles guide every activity, every class, and every decision:

  • Student-Centered: Your experience, your goals, and your well-being are our absolute priority.
  • Excellence & Professionalism: Qualified teaching staff, innovative methodologies, and impeccable service.
  • Community & Teamwork: We believe in the power of the collective, both within our school and in our relationship with you.
  • Global Mindset (Internationalization): We create a multicultural environment where every perspective enriches learning.
  • Integral Respect: For the individual, for culture, for the environment, and for each person's learning journey.
